asking prices seem to be rising on H1s but not sure if they are selling at those prices.
Seems overpriced for a 95 and being a Gasser IMO.

I would never buy a gas H1 IMO. Nothing like hearing that diesel idle up a steep incline acting like it isnt even working.

I would if it was insanely cheap enough to do a conversion to a Duramax (if I didn't already have a Hummer and wanted a Hummer with an engine conversion)
I hope the values on the trucks do increase.
not worth it IMO. pay 35K for truck. then 15K for conversion (that is labor and parts with no work done to the rest of the truck and does not include the engine/transmission). these prices are Predator prices for a cummins conversion. Duramax is more expensive. Sure you could do it yourself but that is a ton of work. I know a few Gassers have been converted to LS engines (LS1/LS6 I am aware of) so that is another consideration. Not to mention on a converted truck you have custom pieces and much tuning involved. so getting replacement parts when you brake something can be more difficult due to custom pieces not readily available. Not to mention conversion usually means more power so transfer case, half shafts, etc are more at risk for breaking. plus this is a 17 year old truck with high maintenance in mind when designed so has that maintenance been kept up to date, is anything wearing out and need replacing. This is a wagon so it pretty susceptible to rust between the steel roof and the aluminum body. everything adds up really quick.
IMO, it is better to pay 40-50K for a Hummer in excellent condition. Yes the Detroit Diesel/General Engine Products 6.2/6.5 engines are no powerhouses but are perfectly fine in our trucks.
