A little love for Western Tire Burbank

I would like to show a little love and acknowledge a local shop. Western Tire in Burbank really came through for me!:thumbs:

But first a little back story. I left a deposit and had to wait two months for my two 38" swampers at 4WP (you can figure out where that is). I finally get a call telling me to come pick up my tires. I tell the guy I'll be in tomorrow to have them mounted and I get this response... "we can not install them on your H1 it's corporate policy but they're here so you can pick them up"...really??????? Thanks for taking my $1200.00 and telling me tuff s..t when he knew it was for an H1 from the beginning.

I call around to several local shops and get the same response H1... nope. Then I am referred to Western Tire in Burbank. I call up and get Josh he tells me sure no problem just bring it in we're happy to help. So I go in last Friday and it turns out Josh is a fellow HUMMER lover. He has a nice H2 that he has supercharged and has lots of plans for it. He has me out of there in 2.5 hours and only $60.00 for both front tire mounted and balanced. It's really great to find a shop you can trust and a fellow HUMMER lover. I told him to look up H4O and join up.

So, what is the issue with 38" and H1??? I never heard of it.

No issue with the 38" tires and the H1. One issue is the CTIS system and the other is most shops think all the H1 trucks have the factory run flats. Even if you tell them "nope I don't have them" they just don't want to deal with it.

4Wheelprts has mounted several sets of tires on H1 two piece run flat wheels with nonissue. It was the Temecula store. Todd is the manager. Glad Western took care of you. For what it is worth I had to convince one 4WheelParts store in Dallas that my H3 two piece Hutchinson wheels didn't have run flats. tech in the back swore it did. Even broke one down and thought the beadlocks was a run flat. Manager sounded embarrassed when he got back on the phone after going to look for himself.

I had no problem with 4 Wheel Parts in Azusa, in fact I was coming up from Tustin Hummer and was running late, and was not going to pick up my tires in time before closing the manager offered to take the tires home with him and meet me half way down towards Tustin, we swapped tires over in San Dimas. Awesome.

Never had any problems with tire shops as long as you make it clear you have normal 1 piece alloy wheels with no run flats, the 2 piece wheels with runflat/bead locks scare off most tire shops.

I guess it was just my bad luck at the Van Nuys 4WP location. Glad to know they are not all that way I gave the old Burbank location a lot of business years back with a few trucks. I was very clear with all of the other shops I talked to that I had the one piece wheels and no run flats. One shop even told me sure bring it in and then when I got their the owner told me NO and walked away refusing to even look at the wheels. Haha!!!
