Air Compressor Question - ExtemeOutback Air Magnum

At Dwaine's suggestion, I'm thinking of having Preferred Chassis Fabrication order and install the ExteremeOutback compressor on the T. It's aproduct he really beilievs in.

It's a continuous-duty 12-volt compressor that puts out 6 CFM free-flow air and 2.6 CFM at 100 psi. It has a 1.5 HP fan-cooled motor. It can be mounted in any angle or position, even upside down, has sealed bearings, requires no servicing or lubrication and is totally sealed, so you can mount it under the truck on a frame rail. Does anyone have one - if so, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Not really. I promise I'll post those results and comparison to the Costco model tomorrow. I' m looking for something that puts out more and faster air.

That seems like an awesome compressor. But holy cow! For that price you could get a small gas powered compressor and get change back. Of course it wouldn't be as compact.

It is about $550 here so I don't know what you guys will pay I bet it will be less cause they are made here we pay a premium

Warn SPI

The Extreme Air is a well thought of unit in the overlanding community - extremely well sealed so that it can be mounted underneath and won't get bogged down in the dust and dirt. Be aware however that it is a bare compressor, so if you are thinking about an on-board air installation you need to add the storage tank, overpressure valve, shutoff valve, pressure gauge, lines, etc. to the list.

Personally, I've had good luck with a Warn SPI. It's designed to be portable, is 12 cfm at 0 psi - 4 cfm at 90 psi and 100% duty cycle. Also has a 1/3 gallon storage tank, an auto shut-off at 100 psi, pressure gauge, and filler hose included. I have it mounted in the bed of my H3T with a storage tank and air lines going to the front and rear. The installation does have quick disconnects so it can still be removed for portable use.
