Welcome from South Jersey.
You came to the right Forum. Now when you say "more offroad capable" you open up a whole new can of worms...LOL I see you are from Florida so you most likely will be more a mud guy then a Rock guy. One thing I have learned here is I am NOT a Rock guy and most of these guys are geared up for offroad trails that seam to be mostly in the mountains or desserts. Bottom line, you will find someone that knows their sh*t either way and will be more then willing to share.
I just gave MessiaH2 an overhaul this year after driving mostly stock since 2004. There are so many custom Hummers to look at and get ideas from, just depends on what your use is. Mine is a daily driver that i like to mud and wheel a few times a year with my kids. I run mine like i believe a Hummer should be ran, other like to build and customize for 100% street use. too each his own, good luck with your build.
Also everyone here likes pictures and there is a build thread which is easy to navigate and update as you go through your build. There are also Hummer clubs and outings that are mostly regional which is also a way to get together and wheel or hang out with other Hummer enthusiast such as yourself. GOOD LUCK
LARRY
