Anyone have this tire?

Just saw some Interco TSL Thornbirds on a Dodge Ram. Wow, what a mean looking tire. Just read some reviews on it though. Not so good. Bad in snow, wet, mud, and is a PITA to keep aligned.

My buddy has them on his Jeep. They are one of the craziest looking tires (love the huge side lugs) but have to be one of the worst performing tires. They do alright in deep mud (were the huge side lugs can dig in) but anything shallower and they will just fill up and spin like an AT. They do pretty good in deep snow and sand. They are bias ply, so the ride quality isn’t great. They are one of the hardest Swampers to balance but it can be done. They are next to impossible to get even wear, the centers always wear out and the sides still have decent tread. My buddy has some serious issues with chucking on his, there are a few lugs missing. I will admit they look killer, its to bad they don’t perform as good as the look. Like 06H3 said, I got a set sent to me by mistake when I ordered my boggers.

I'm with you Solar, the "Thorn-turds" are for looks only. I had a set a long time ago and they are the worst tires I have owned. They don't do anything well, esp mud and they are down right scary in the ice and snow.

WTF! the thornbirds on the Blue H3 looked like the center has 50k miles on em and the sides looked brand new. The white H3 you posted atleast looked like it had some normal wear.

Yup I have been around the 4x4 scene for a loooong time Thornturds are the absolute worst Interco heck truck tire every made. They have looks but thats it. They do horrible on the street they do even worse off road they dont even do good in mud unless you can ride the sides of ruts to getthe side lugs to bite. They never stay in ballance they are horribly loud I think worse than a bogger.

I am a interco fan. i have owned many sets of all their tires, but I will never own or recommend a Thornturd ever!!!!

I've known three different people who have run the T-Birds.

None of them were happy with the tires.

Well with the above posts im guessing i better sign with the "thornturd" side. Kinda makes me wonder why Interco makes them with all the bad reviews. They dont look bad, but seems they dont do well either:whaa:

That's what I'm thinking... Looks and looks alone. And they're not a great performing tire, from the looks of it. (Pun slightly intended.​)

Yes, but it was implied that they leave much to be desired on pavement as well.

It always cracks me up when someone does tires but leaves the spare stock. What would happen when one gets a flat on the trail and the tires are different sizes? That can't be fun or good on the drivetrain.

Its not something you want to do on an AWD vehicles like the H3.
