Bad battery terminals?

This is good stuff guys..I'm still on the fence about which way to do the cable ends..I have a couple of opinions from my world (lectrical engineer and an automotive gearhead)..Both of them say leave the cable ends raw and just coat them in No-Ox and that should be good enough.

I know, I know, this is getting old..
:eek:pen:
Okay..the lates I learned..If I solder (tin) the ends, I should use use Radio Shack; Silver bearing solder ($5.69 for a 4 Oz. roll)

Done...The terminals arrived from Hong Kong today and seems pretty nice..I was able to combine all the wires per cable with Silver Solder (4%), then set them into one hole on each terminal.

your engine bay looks really clean

Thanks:emb:

I have a reputation to maintain ya know..hence the Avatar..But listen, I like the adventure of offroading as much as the next guy..But I always wanted my rig to look like a showroom example of our HUMMERS..somebody has got to keep up the image:dee:..LOL..But I love my H3 and will try and keep it pristine as long as I own it...

I'm looking at a 07 down the street for sale right now..it has high miles (98,000) and been off road a few times...if I can get it for the right price, I'm going to convert it to a full time offroader.

not trying to say clean is a bad thing. I clean my h3 every weekend. I always start to clean the engine bay but usually lose interest.

It's easy once you stay on top of it..

I cover my brake fluid reservoir with a plastic baggie and make sure the engine is still a little warm (not HOT) and spray down most everything including the firewall felt stuff, (but not the Alternator) with Simple Green..Let it sit for about 5 minutes..(dirtier---> longer), then I hose it off with a garden hose with hot water from my water heater which is conviently in the garage in a closet (cold water will work just as good)...I spray off all the soap from everything (don't spray the Alternator)..Then I Fire up the Leaf Blower and blow dry the engine and bay completely and then let it sit outside in the air for an hour or so, hood up, to complete dry out...Then spray a light mist of Vinlyx by Lexol over all the plastic stuff and hoses.

Sorry for going on again... I'm on one of my cleaning kicks this weekend..so I'm all buzzed up from being in the garage all day.:whaa:

ill have to give it a try when it gets a little warmer. I painted my plastic hummer engine cover a few months ago. I cleaned my throttle body today. Let us know how you like those battery terminals. I need to get some new ones
