:)first time off roading

This is the story:

1, cgalpha08 and I planned meeting at badlands at 11:00 am. However, I was lost for 15 minutes, after using my phone GPS, I finally arrived there around 11:20 am.
Then we started doing off roading===>Here is the video link(cgalpha08 and me) :. As a beginner, I carefully followed cgalpha08 all the way. I liked mudding and climbing. When I saw the mud terrain for the first time, I thought it was impossible not to get stock, but we did go through it. I used to think that off-roading is about relaxing and just being shaken. After back to my dorm, my hands were slightly shaking when having a lunch. After for awhile, I heard a sharp noise from cgalpha08's front end. He said his front brake has a little problem maybe a tiny rock stuck in the brake system. So he decided to leave earlier to solve his brake problem so that it won't make a further problem.

Then, i was alone:wink:. I couldn't see any other HUMMER drivers. Here is another video link(only me) : I was stock on a rocky sand hill while trying to climb it. The whole rear axle was submerged by the sand(too bad that H2 & H3 don't have 2 rear independent suspensions). There was a tree behind me. No matter how hard I pushed the pedal or turned the front wheels, my H3 didn't move at all except spinning four wheels and sliding backward to the tree....which was terrible. The only thing I could do was getting helped by others. After 10 minutes, a group of ATVs came and checked what was going on with my h3. I dug some sand out. They cut some small branches of the tree and 4 of them pushed my car from the front end. Finally I was able to get out of the sand hole. My right mirror was flipped, and the whole right side of my H3 got a lot of scratches:)gaah:I probably have to spend extra $ to get new paint and repair right side handles....) Unfortunately, I just moved backward too much that I was stuck in mud:emb:(from the video you can see I drove through a pond that is behind the tree). Then, again, 2 ATVs used their winches hooking my H3's front end and pulling it out. After that I decided to return to my school. But I didn't know where was the entrance, so I just drove around with my feelings:horns: "what the....":whaa:, I went to a different way, the trail was much more difficult than the one which cgalpha showed me before. I just so nervous. more than 50% of the trail was mud, deep mud:whaa:. I was afraid of getting stock again, especially getting stock in the middle of nowhere(I think it was along the edge of the off road park, I saw a sign written "private properties, do not trespass":whaa:)

Since then, I realized how important having partners and installing a winch can be.:corn:

Overall, the first time off roading experience is good and thrilling. I will definitely go to Badlands again.

Yep, pics are all there. Looked like a perfect day to be out on the trail. Sorry to hear about your "pinstriping". BTW, nice looking rigs there you 2!

Remember, you should always have another rig along when you go wheeling - even though you did when you started out, it always seems like it's those times when you think that nothing bad can happen, when Murphy's law decides to rear its ugly head! That being said, it's good that it wasn't too big a deal and other people were around to help you out.

Luckily you got out ok. It is important to wheel with others...most of us learn that the hard way lol

Scratches suck, but they build character too. If you can make it out with us in late April, we'll have you covered with winches, jacks and other rigs.
