So the package was stopped at the boarder as the sender only put $100 as the purchase price, got that sorted out now and sent them the invoice for the true value.... should be cleared and on its way again for tomorrow or so

I installed this tail gate lock last night... went well except for finding my damn torx set to remove the bed liner!!:gaah:

There hitch mount series is not bad... just not the solution I am looking for as I would need to relocate the backup camera (which I need badly due to the snugtop).
And they are the same price as the replacement gates!!

What about building the gate yourself? It looks pretty simple in design.

I am thinking about it... the problem for me is that all the welding shops around here service the oil and gas industry and they are all very busy at the moment so to get anyone to do anything for ya will cost you an arm.... and a leg if you can find someone that'll do it...

I am going to try and take a bunch of measurements over the weekend and try to come up with a design/blueprint, then go to this shop that builds Sprint Car Race chassis with a blue print and see if I can get them to make that parts (cut the various parts out and make the bends)... then I'll tack it together & take it over to a pro to finish everything up.... but from start to finish I wouldn't expect to have it done before July at the earliest

Wasn't planning on having my 40'' bar up and running until late next week some time.....

Well something lit a fire under my @$$ and I started right from scratch this morning at about 11... built a light bar that comes off the very front of the roof rails forward to the very top edge of the roof and then the bar mounts in front of that.

Since the crappy cell phone pics were taken I have adjusted the angle but here are some snaps:

After looking at my truck for a while, I am going to try and lower the Light Bar by an inch or two to keep the profile even lower/meaner!

Does anyone know if 35's fit under the box where the stock spare is kept?

If you have a 35" spare on an OEM wheel, it will fit under the box. My aftermaket rim with a 35" KM2 will not fit - it's not due to the tire - its' the wheel, at least in my case.

Looks great but I would really pull that thing behind the window. I would get it all powered up and see how much light comes into the dash before it's all said and done.

Interesting, I think I am going to go down 2'' to the 35's then because that would free up the need to make a tire carrier/tiregate.... What part of the aftermarket rim doesn't work in your senario? I will have to go aftermarket due to the Rancho lift and its rim requirements

Looks great but I would really pull that thing behind the window. I would get it all powered up and see how much light comes into the dash before it's all said and done.

Its all wired and and has been going to take out the dslr to try and show how it looks to the human eye (not how most camera's adjust to the light)

As for the light that comes back on the dash/hood... I didn't notice it at all, I'll take a closer look when I get the chance to take it out of town and test it properly, but based on my experiences in my initial test the flat paint soaks up 90% of the reflection and it doesn't bother me or seem to effect my night vision

It fits but does hang down lower & even w/ a stock rim I have problems w/ the safety catch releasing properly

hmmm.... well I feel as if I don't wheel enough to justify the 37's.... only going about once a month right meow.... I could chance it with the 35's and just see how it sits... If I don't like it then I could go back to the tire gate/swingout idea if I need to

Since my truck didn't come with the stockers... I'll prob skip out on buying them.. might as well just go with aftermarket

So I took my truck into the Stealership to take a look at why I have some oil on my driveway... turns out I need a rear seal replaced... luckly they are covering it under the power train warranty (since they installed the lift, supercharger, rims, tires etc.)

.... while they are doing that I was going to get them to switch out the spark plugs... Anything else I should get them to change while its pulled out??

Have them check the motor mounts. They seem to break rather quietly and easily- especially the passenger side, torque-weight bearing one.

I just ordered a rear tire swing out DIY kit from EMS off road today, looks like I will have to order a rear bumper from Thor Parts and will get the full size spare out of the tiny box and behind the truck where it belongs!

Quick update!

Just got off the phone with Rancho and new adjustment knobs are on their way!

Told 4speedfunk that I'll take the last H3T rear bumper!
