I had a dock for my Droid phone in the garage so I figured I better get it installed. I chose to mount it on my dash tray so I could use the phone to video trips. I couple of L brackets and a little work with a file allowed it to work like a champ!
I was able to pull the charge cable up the back side of the dash and route it through a vent hole in the dash tray.
I am currently grabbing video with an app called Torque. It is primarily used for monitoring OBD info but has a nifty plug-in that will overlay gauges on video. Well, turns out the Torque also has inclinometers! I am still having issues with exporting the videos properly. I will post more once I get it functional.

Finally got a few things done. The Scorpworks steering rack mount is in. Also got both front differential end mounts replaced. The right side was pretty much toast.
I also installed the tomp skids finally. Looks so much better now.
The old BA skids took quite a beating the last few years. I am gonna hang them on the "Wall-o-Carnage" in the garage.

Got the Hurst shifter in. Ripped from the AR5 thread:
Well, the new shifter is in . . . and this thing is SWEET!
Here is a before pic:
Once I got the top portion of the console off and removed the factory stick, I removed the floor boot. I had to unbolt the front fasteners to allow the boot room to come out.
With he floor boot out of the way, just had to pull the shifter dustcover and remove four bolts to take out the factory shifter.
Here is the old and new, side by side. I had to reuse the pivot cup.
The assembly came with all the appropriate bushings to keep things well sealed.
I had to do a little surgery on the upper boot. I folded it inside-out and cut the o-ring that held it onto the knob. I cut a seam just enough to slide the boot off. Once that was done, I was able to zip-tie the Hurst grommet on the boot.
All done!

I'm sure this is a little off topic but...
Take that handle back off and shorten it about 6"...so its nuthin but rubber boot and t-handle! Try to get the throw down to less than 4" You'll be able to bang gears full-throttle at 7000rpm without lifting your right foot. I'm a long time stick-shift drag racer...and that's how you speed shift! Its totally awesome and totally the worst thing you can do to a tranny....but a properly set up stick car will beat the pants off an AT car to half-track.

Yep, I already do the clutchless shifts, but I actually match RPMs to speed to do it. Five years of driving a big rig taught me that trick.
The AR5 is actually pretty beefy. I know of several people running them in a Solstice/Sky and pushing over 500HP through it.

I love having a pile of toys to add to my truck too... Usually I can't wait, but the weather by me is been freezing and very messy, so it's piling up too lol, great job on the rig cbetts!!

Started working on the upgrade to my on board air system. I just could not get things to work as planned. Initially, I ws going to upgrade my compressor and put a five gallon air tank in the back where the stock muffler would reside. I just couldn't find a good place for the compressor though. I found a spot by the evap canister, above the shield in the back but could not figure out a way to reach the bolts. Well, I decided to not install the five gallon tank and just keep the little tank in the front. The compressor found a home where I was going to put the tank.
I ran the intake tube behind the right tail light, up into the pillar. Should be pretty dry in there and allow for an easy change of the air filter.
I still need to run the electrical and reassemble the front. Next weekend . . .

Very cool build thread.
It's nice to see the different side of car enthusiasts. We have more been in the sports car, racing, show car scene, but this is climbing, mud, mountains, etc and it's just awesome

Really?! Want company? I would like to do a break-in run to see how things are now. I would be more than glad to post up a last minute run if you are in.
So far, I really like the new feel. The Alpha torsion bars are great. I like the stiffer feel. I don't get much nose dive on hard braking. Also, the Bilsteins all around are great. I had them in the front but was still running OEMs in the rear.

How are the bilsteins driving around town, like hitting pot holes and going over speed bumps, compared to stock?

The ride is a little stiffer, but still nice around town. I really like the Bilsteins combined with the Alpha torsion bars. Very little nose dive on braking now. I am leveled and still running stock bump stops.

Started off the new year with $900 sent to 4speedfunk for the legendary winch bumper! I can't wait to put it on! I am hoping there is still room for my air tank between the tow hooks, otherwise I will have to find a new home for it. I also need to get another yellow top battery and a dual battery mount.
