It had been over a month that I had driven my H3 so I decided to take it up in the mountains and test that 20" light bar. I don't really love the light pattern it puts out, I didn't expect it to be that tight of a spot light. but it should be okay with all the other lights. It definitely shines for a good distance though.

I got a new GoPro Hero 3, so I figured I'd go to the dunes and do some baja'in to test it out. I don't know how the video turned out yet, I have to upload it still. But here's some still-pictures from today.

Well I wanted to test out my new GoPro I got from Tyson's group buy, so I took the H3 down to the sand dunes and I learned my first valuable lesson, if you mount it near a reflective surface, it will make you sick watching it! I need to play with it some more and learn some good spots to put the camera.

The video pace starts out slow because I wasn't very trusting of the suction cup mount, and was trying to keep an eye on it. Once I realized that the suction cup wasn't going anywhere, I started to push it a little harder. I never realized how much my front tire actually came off the ground today. Which is bad because that means my shocks are acting as limiting straps. I don't care too much because these shocks are already not that impressive, so if I ruin them I won't lose any sleep. They do have a 3 year no-questions-asked replacement warranty though.

I thought my camera battery would have lasted longer than it did, I had the wi-fi on for the remote, but I only got about 45 minutes worth of video and then the battery died, same with my wi-fi remote, they were both charged full at the beginning of the trip and both died really fast in my opinion.. If that is right I will just get some spare batteries to swap in, except I can't just swap in batteries with my wi-fi remote.

BTW camera setting was on 720p (low quality setting) and I had to trim it down from 18 minutes to 7. I also don't know why there is that awful noise. Kinda sounds like wind noise but I don't think it is.. and it shouldn't be noise coming from my Hummer itself.

The sound is wind noise, probably cross wind at some point! Anyway, how do you like the ride with the Rancho Lift? The Rancho shocks are rubbish if they're the ones you're using (they only have 2.5" of travel when compared to the stock OEMs Whooping 4"!!! The bilsteins allow you 1" more travel before you hit the metal stop in OEM form, not sure on a Rancho lifted one how much travel would you get if you change to the bilsteins used for the 4" lifted chevys)

Yeah I have the Rancho 9000's. In this video they were turned all the way down to setting "1" (the way they came from the install place) and after the video I cranked it to "9" but I can't tell if it made a difference or not. They are junk.

It's just weird that it is wind noise because I was going faster in a couple of my other videos earlier that day and there was absolutely zero wind noise.

And the H3 will slowly be getting upgrades to help with this kind of driving.

FYI........A fishing trace for lures makes a good safety line for your GoPro in case the mount breaks!!!! (just ask C.Betts)

So I got my 'Offroad LED Bars' LED headlight bulbs installed. Install time was about 10 minutes because I questioned myself on if I had their rotational orientation correct, but I could only get them to go in one way, so figured it must be right.

Here are some comparison pics. Halogens first, then LEDs 2nd.

Its really hard to show how the lights really show in real life. I'll try to get some tomorrow with a different camera. Obviously your eyes can pick up more light and better color than a camera can.

and here's a pic of when I switched out the lights in the WalMart parking lot lol. LED on passenger, halogen on driver.

So my review can be summed up by saying: they meet my expectations. They don't exceed them, but they don't fall short either.

The light is a lot cleaner and crisper. I don't feel that I will need projector lenses either for these to be good. I drove around the city for about an hour tonight and nobody flashed their high beams at me so that's a good sign.

The color temperature of the light seems to be around 6000k, it should match the rest of my LEDs pretty well. I'm not doing anything with the factory fog lights because when I finally build my winch bumper then I will ditch those lights completely.

Had a fun weekend!

I also bought the extra annex/changing room, I got out to camp after dark so I didn't set up the annex because I had never done it before. So when I got home I set it up in my driveway to learn how to set it up efficiently.

G2led makes brackets for our trucks specifically. Look them up on facebook. A guy on instagram user name calla_ro actually has them mounted with a 50 inch.
