I know most of you all use go pro cameras. I had purchased contour cameras as they were a bit more streamlined. It looks like contour shuttered its doors a couple of weeks back (per a number of seattle blogs). May need to transiton to go pro. Thought you all may want to check/verify before you buy, news can always be wrong.

That'd be a bummer as I heard good things about them. Competition is good but GoPro is the 800lb gorilla in the market right now.

If I am not mistaken I believe the Contour had to be tethered to a computer to access some of the functions.
I have been checking out the RePlay because of the size and shape in that category and easy access to it's functions under the end cap.

My friends with helos tell me the Go Pro is subject to vibrations and they are using a sony video camera with interchangeable lenses for commercial aerial productions.
Not sure that would work for some rugged environments though.
All of these are amazing considering 15 years ago I used a 35lb video camera to get the best quality at that time but these have surpassed that!

We used a Replay this weekend and it kept freezing up all the time. We kept having to reset it.

Well I guess they all have issues at times.
Local camera store has offered me several times to try one out and shoot them some demo footage. I may take them up on it.
