Cover chrome with bedlinerFAQ's?

I'm sure I'm not the first to ask this question. My '06 has some chrome touches that I wish to black out. I was originally thinking of primer. Now, I'm realizing that roll-on bed liner will be a hell-ov-a lot more durable.

I've seen all the tricks to remove chrome. I was gonna take the abrasive route and use scothbrite/fine sand paper to scuff the surface instead.

Any input on brand of bed liner to use/avoid would be awesome.

Thanks for looking,

Joe

The bed liners that have a hardener like raptor liner, monsta liner, or the professionally done liners like line-x will be best. I've had line-x on my handles and grille for two years and it has held up great. Bed liners from auto zone I haven't had great luck with other than duplicolor bed armor. I sprayed my rear bumper with that about 7 months ago and it still looks great. I just redid my mirrors with bed armor as well since the rustoleum bed liner wasn't holding up on the edges

I used the Duplicolor bedliner on my chrome grill about a year ago and it has held up well. Some people use Plastidip but I think that's not for anything that might get treated roughly, though I've not had any experience with it myself.
