Custom H2 Roof Basket

Set out to the shop this weekend with the intention of mounting my prototype KMW driveline skid plate, but ended up designing / building a roof basket. I did; however, use my KMW basket mounts that Robert sent to me!

The basket is make out of 1" rectangular tubing and expanded metal. I have 4, 4" 55W spot lights mounted to the front. I'll see how I like them and adjust the output / beam as necessary.

It took two of us 10 hours to build and paint the basket and then took four of us about 15 minutes to get it up and bolted to the roof.

Looks good! What did you use to paint it?

Thanks! Used a primer on the bare metal and then a good coating of rocker guard. It's like bedliner, but I find it to be more durable.

I'll have to look that stuff up and give it a try. My roof rack is in need of a proper coating but its too cold

Funny, just this morning I was going to send you an email to ask if you had made your rack yet and how the brackets worked out. I guess thay worked!

We need more pics of the truck with the rack on it! And then, get off your duff and get that skid on there, would you?!?! :wink: :giggle:
