DD WRT Users?

There are as many techies on this forum as anywhere, so I thought I would ask if anyone uses DD WRT on their routers. I'm in IT, so one would think I could figure this out, but I have a lowend Linksys (WRT54GS2) with the micro build (2MB) and I can not get RDP to work, either internally or from outside the local network. Anyone have any ideas?

I run Tomato on my router. :link:

It has been really solid and is easy to setup and use. I do enough sysadmin tasks in my job so I wanted something easy to setup but still have the flexibility to tweak if I wanted.

Make sure you have several things going . . .

1) Make sure RDP is turned on on the system
2) Make sure the router is passing port 3389
3) Make sure you are connecting to the correct outside IP address. You can easily configure your router with something like no-ip.com so you can use a fully qualified domain name instead of an IP address.

I can assist from my side if you like. I run all kinds of stuff on my box at home.

I vpn through a sonicwall at home and at the office and then use several remote desktop solutions. My current fav is splashtop remote desktop I can run it on my Ipad and it works great.

Thanks for the offer of helping me, but this isn't any kind of critical issue. The old "blue box" Linksys has been bulletproof so I put it back to work. Really wasn't any issue....just experimenting with dd-wrt and was smart enough not to do it on my working setup. I will definitely have to check out Tomato.
