Defensive Ammo

Hate the term defense round but I found a place that sells some interesting rounds. Nothing cutting edge but some nice stoppers that should work a little better than what you can generally find at Gander Mountain. Talked to the owner of Crossfire Ammunition on the phone for quite awhile. ( he happens to be interested in acquiring an H1 ) He is a smallish ammo manufacturer that attends gun shows in the Ohio area so some of you may know him. I bought some of his Black Max Solid Copper Hollow Point ammo in 380, 9mm and 45 ACP. These use the General Bullet solid copper HP projectile. I also bought some Tactical Grenade ammo in 380, 9mm, 45 ACP and 223. This round uses the Sinterfire frangible HP projectile. He is also going to send me some 308 in the Tactical Grenade for testing and feedback when he starts loading it.

website is: www.crossfireammunition.com

While it is too expensive to shoot regularly once you have run a few rounds through your weapon of choice to establish aim/impact points I think this stuff might just do the trick for you in a pinch.

Anyone ever used any of their ammo? Any feedback would be appreciated. I should get my order in a week or so.

I have used frangible ammo and works great for avoiding over penetration. Never used that specific brand. You can test it by putting two water jugs in line. Shoot at the first. If the frangible is working properly, the second jug should stay intact. We did this with 200 grain 300 win mag and it didn't touch the second jug. We shot at them from maybe 2 or 3 yards back. The energy released on the first jug, sent the second one flying, but it didn't even have a scratch on it.

I have done it just shooting into a 55 gallon drum full of water from above and then rescuing the round, at least on HP. I will try the milk jug test. I used to sell a 25gr 223 aluminum frangible HP round but I can't find it anymore. Only have about 30 left.

Yep, including Rhodesian Jungle, Pitbulls, CS, Illumination, and a few "others." Breaking into my house is a mistake that you'll make only once.
