I would say you need to pull the door panel and see if it's affixed on the back side somehow, if it's not then without a doubt you'll damage both the panel and the orange piece removing it.

If I remember, the leather covered part has push pins that go into the door panel proper.

No clue as to whether or not those pins can be reused or not.

Based on the number I have seen recovered to match new seat leather, folks are doing it somehow.

Trying to find that stereo/speaker install thread that has pics of the backside of a door panel in it.....but my search-fu is weak.

Well I got brave!! I pulled out a screw driver and started at the corner edge.. It appears to be a real thin flimsy material and glued on.. As I pulled I could hear the glue separating.. My goal was to attempt to by leather dyes to match the ATACs swat covers but since I don't want to pull it off it will prolly be easier to just dye the leather black

Still cannot locate the pics I was looking for.

You probably are better off leaving the unknown alone for now.

Wish to hell I had your interior.

That is the only thing I did not get that I wanted on this last truck.

Ended up with the black cloth on black everything else option....Not my favorite at all.

Just haven't pulled the trigger on a set of Katzkins yet.

Here is the backside of a Ts rear door panel. Does not appear to have any pins.

Just so you know. Marathon sold me extra ATACS cordura so I could do exactly what you plan to do. Just haven't had time to get to it.
