You can if you like but you would need a air pump to run it or you could go with an electric Easton locker. There's also the chance you run into a stock locker and it comes in a cast iron diff case.

I'm guessing I have an aluminum diff or something like that now? Is the cast iron stronger? What else, if anything, needs to be swapped out with it?

Shouldn't be a problem, just make sure you have a storage tank that can hold 2.5 gallons and up.

The cast iron is stronger and won't flex like the aluminum one. The locker puts a lot of stress on the housing. You should just be able to swap out the housing/carrier, keeping many of your internals when the locker goes in. Some wear and tear parts, like races and bearings, may be replaced during the upgrade.

I'm definitely gonna be reaching out for help when the time comes. I'm still up in the air about a few things. I've found the Eaton for the rear for around $600 so that plays into decision making. Right now it's rear first, 4:1 t-case after... Then maybe a front locker if I can hold out and find a stock CI w/ locker someone's parting with. I just love the wealth of knowledge everyone has and I apologize if I'm oozing with nooB funk.

That's good plan right there, but don't forget armor if you don't have it already.
