H40 Brothers and Sisters,
Well its that time of night. The final hour. And its gone. Late this afternoon our Hummer H1 was traded in for a few of new cars. I'm so glad I came across CHO, and then later H40. It has been the best year and half. You guys opened me up to a great group of people and new hobby. Before this it was fun every now and then, but now I am addicted. I hate to see the H1 go, and i've been delaying this for as long as i can, but it comes a time when you just need to say goodbye and move on. It was great knowing you guys as a fellow Hummer owner, but now I'm a Rover owner. Out of the 3 cars that we received for the H1, i was able to get great deal on a 2004 Land Rover Discovery G4. Not the same, but its still a good truck. Hopefully i will be able to tag along on a few trips now and then. And hopefully down the road ill get back in the hummer game, but only time will tell. Its been real, its been fun, but now its time to open a new chapter and try something new.

Ill stick around and chime in from now and then, but my activity will die out more then it already has in the last few weeks. Maybe this spring ill be able to tag along in my orange Disco . Fingers crossed :).

*AJ K.

dude your paragraph on the sale was depressing. I am sure you will be back and stay in touch, as time goes on and hummers get older some will move on, some will stay and new people will join but for those that leave, dont actually leave...lol. use the "other rigs" section, I cant really talk as a whole for H4O but I feel we welcome all other rigs so keep us in touch on the land rover and its build.

yea sorry for it being depressing haha. Didn't mean for it to be that bad, but it does suck. Biggest bummer was as soon as i came out here i was hoping to get it out to Moab, cause i knew the sale was inevitable. But it just never worked out. That is one of my biggest regrets.

ajk, as 06 H3 said, we welcome all rigs and their owners here - so stick around - start a build thread for the land rover. You're a part of the H4O community no matter what you drive! Good luck with the new rig.

Someone is going to say this, so it might as well be me:

:agree: Who did you trade it with? A dealer? If so can you please post up the link for their website?:) Have to agree with 06, but It would still be nice to have you come along on the H40 Black Sheep event!

Oh man, thats too bad about the H1! Dont worry though you, are still one of the lucky few to have owned and wheeled the one and only Hummer H1 (so dont be too bummed, lol). I'd really like to see how the discovery wheels and what if any mods you will do, so please do stick around and keep us updated on the new rig!

Sorry to see the H1 go. Hope you'll stick around and post up the Rover build. Currently the rigs area lumps Jeeps, Rovers, etc together but with enough traffic we can separate those out.

Hate to see the H1 go...you are going to miss it. The Discos are pretty decent offroad rigs. It will be a different experience but they are capable. I know a lot of H1 owners that have sold only to buy again later so I am going to tentatively put you in that group. Change happens but you are welcome here as a Disco owner and hopefully we still get you out on the trail with us.

Thanks everyone. I guess i could stick around :woot:
I'm excited for the Disco, it will be nice to wheel a smaller car for once, although it will be a huge change

M22Klars - the other two cars are as follow;

2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

2006 Range Rover HSE

And then the 2004 Discovery G4

(sorry for bad quality, picture was taken under gas station lights with a cell phone)

The dealer link is here:
http://northjerseyautomall.com/

Its good place, Some russian guys own the place in N. Jersey. Good guys, and were very excited to get the H1... which is understandable haha. They made sure all the cars are top shape. The disco had a broken pass. window motor and rusted rear ladder, which they are replacing for free. The disco isn't even on the site yet, it rolled in when i was there looking at another disco SE and immediately i tested it and loved it.

Yea 3 cars for 1, all being in really good shape. I have to say this is a first for me hahaha
on a different note... the turbo is really fast, like you jump on it and it throws you back in your seat. Its going to be trouble, not getting tickets haha :whaa:

I thought you bought a 4-Runner?
Yea i kinda did... i put money down on it, but kept trying to work the numbers. I could only afford to lease it. And Boulder Toyota really never let me get the number where i wanted which sucks and i wanted to try and wait for the new model to come out to lower prices on the 2011 but that didn't work. This just kinda ended up working out better. Which doesn't bother me all to much, other then having to let the H1 go

But now the $1500 put down on that can be put towards other things... like mods :)

Sweet! Are they going to wheel it or sell it?

... i was thinking about building a shrine around it.... but then i decided to wheel the hell out of it in CO :horns:

seems to be a descent trade. Are they rusted ? being ~8 years old.

nope after buying them we had all 3 put up on lifts and inspected, all clean and structurally sound. The Disco has the most miles, but belonged to some guy in CT who had to have kept in in a garage cause it doesn't have any rust or corrosion. The other two have a lot less miles and are in great shape, as i stated earlier.

Well somehow I missed this. I hope you like the new Disco! What makes it a G4 edition?

It was great wheeling with you in the past. I hope you'll continue to keep coming out!

I'm not really sure, Its a sweet truck. If any i feel like they might want to keep it. I've been checking their website and i still havn't seen it so i'm not really sure.

To my understanding not much. Just the fact its bright orange, and has some exterior protection. It also has a center locking differential. (not a huge fan of, but will make do) And i do plan on coming out and wheeling it, hopefully in the spring, depending on where i am, ill try and make either the RC run or the Moab run.

well i just bought a ton of stuff for the disco. Which is another reason i'm happy i went with the disco, rather then the 4runner. It left more money for mods. I'll install and post pics when i get a chance. and ill make a thread about it:). But this thing is going to look awesome when i'm done. I'm not going to touch the suspension though till spring/early summer, same goes with new tires. But ill make a thread about it when i get a chance.

you'll have fun with the Disco. 2004 was the better year for that model. And the G4 being limited was a good catch for you. There is a good sized Disco group out here as well. quite a bit of aftermarket support on lifts, bumpers, racks, etc. wheels/ tires are a little harder to get in spec sizes, but not too bad to get.

That Turbo will be fun! My neighbor has one and loves it!

Expo Portal has a ton of Rover threads for you to learn more about that truck too.

no porblem. Do a build section on that G4. I know many on this forum don't know what that edition is all about. EVen posting up all stock pics if fine in my mind...than add to it as you go..even if you do just tires. We looked at a G4 here locally about a year ago. Fun trucks for sure.
