Google Play movies

Has anyone used the Play store to rent or buy movies? I want to know if I'm able to download them to my phone for a period of time so I can watch them when I'm not in data service (ie: on an airplane)

I have done this. As i recall you have to have a data stream to play them. And if you rent the movie, i believe its only for 24 hrs.

I checked on the Play store help section and it says you can download them, you have 30 days to watch them and 24 hours to finish the movie once you've started watching it.

So.. I take this as it sounds like I can do what I want to do, that is, download it and watch it later. I guess I was just looking for someone that has done this first hand.

I also thought that Netflix would allow you to do this, but apparently that has since changed as I was unable to download the movie and watch "on demand."

Yes, you can download them and watch them later, like on a plane. After you rent the movie you need to go into (when on wi-fi) and click "Make Available Offline" for that movie. Trust me, it really sucks when you're at 10,000' and you realize you forgot to check that box and fully download the movie.
