Buick had his first snow day

mostly we cleared trail

chainsaw plus winch = win

see the rear most Jeep? not part of our group - but he was mad and flipped me off as he drove by... apparently I don't cut trees apart fast enough

what would have been funny would have been another tree down after that one....

Still, it amazes me - even before, they just sat and waited in their vehicles for us to clear the road.... where do people like that come from? I get it in the FJ - it was stone stock and could easily have been noobs - but the Jeep, winch, well-used off-road... I don't get it... oh well, people with their panties that tightly wound are generally the recipient of life's worst stuff

plus, my mastiff was happy :)

I got hung up one time in Big Bear behind some Jeeps clearing the trail. No finger involved. Got out and helped and talked with them for a bit. Ended up running some trails with them.

I've been wheeling since my second year of college (1987), and this is the only time that's ever happened - 75% of the time, you have to shoo the people off so you can get work done because they really want to help. 24% of the time, you have helpers, and the 1% of the time (until today) you'd get the people coming up to talk and you'd learn it was their first outting (of that group, most end up wheeling with us) - thus, this was flat out amazing to me.... maybe he thought he knew me (it is kind of a common greeting among my friends)

Yeah, I know the salute with friends, way too well. But to be impatient like that. Uh, okay, you get by us, and where are you going? No where! There's a tree in the way.

part of the reason I let them around was the hope there was another one - then I'd just sit and watch :)

Wow stunning photos, would have loved to be there. Maybe I could have help cut the tree faster lol.

You're welcome to join us when we go.

Cute dog!

thanks!

to close the loop on this story - this was the SAR mission I was on Sat/Sunday night
http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20140120/NEWS01/140129896/Mukilteo-climber-dies-on-Lewis-Peak

it was a good thing we cut the trees and moved them out of the roadway; they would have been in the way for this mission.
