h3 2006 blower motor

I was going down the road and the blower motor stop kept driving and it tried to come back on a couple of times the all at once it started back up i turned it off and on a few times it is working fine right now anyone have a idea what it could be dont want to get stuck with no heat when its 32 degrees like it is today

The resister and wiring harness get hot and melt. I've repaired this several times myself. Except I did without A/C in 115 degree weather. Can replace these parts but it will happen again. I soldered the connections so it won't happen anymore :)
