Hello all, So I’m trying to connect a aftermarket brake controller I located the four wires underneath the steering wheel area where I need to connect to, one wire is green one is brown one is black with a white stripe and one is red/orange, The brake controller harness wires are colored red one is white one is blue and one is black. Does anyone know which colors connect to what colors from the harness? I’ve been looking online for hours and cannot find the answer any help greatly appreciated!

Question for you - did your vehicle come with a tow package? When you said you found the wires by the steering wheel, was that to the left (closer to the door) or to the right, closer to the stereo? From what I've read, people have found the brake controller wires under or near the stereo and they were labeled as such from the factory.

I think you found the wiring for off road lights.

From elsewhere "The wiring is already under the H3 dash for a brake controller, taped up on the right side of the steering column (just below the left side of the radio), and running to the back if you have a factory hitch. Even if not, they're easy to install/wire. One hot wire (from battery), one ground, one wire from the brakelight switch, and finally one wire going to the trailer plug in the back. Any brake controller that you purchase will have wiring instructions/diagrams."

Yes my rig has factory tow package, the picture above shows the only four wires bundled together found anywhere under the steering wheel area. The only information I was able to find was GMC trucks in that year area describing the wires what I already found but differ in color. Attached is photo of the new harness I need to connect. I'm trying to avoid having to run new wires . Any info is appreciated IMG_20230904_135624.jpg

The wires are there. Not plug and play. You’ll have to cut the plug off the controller pig tail and splice them together . Right above your foot when it’s on the gas pedal there’s a light above your shin. They are tucked up in that area.
Same on our 2006 H3 as was the 2009 H3t.

Glad you found them. Sorry, I was away from home and not able to reply sooner. Do you still need to know the colors to the Tekonsha harness? As I recall they are different so you can't just go red to red, black to black, etc.
