H3 Front Suspension

I need a little help on this one. I have a 2006 H3 that is "binding" up on hard turns (either left or right). Now, having said that, let me also say I've just recently put in the cross member from Precision Mods, in another post on this site... Which then caused a semi-different issue. If, I turn hard enough to bump the steering radius edge (either in drive or reverse), there seems to be some energy being stored up somewhere that pops (audible thud) that shakes the vehicle. I've immediately climbed under the truck looking for any damage, or something out of joint, to which I find none. My immediate reaction is either CV joints, or ball joints. Thoughts??

Take a look at the transfer case fluid. Mine was doing that, and the fluid was a nasty mess...filled with metallic dust. So I drained and re-filled it but, a few weeks later...it completely gave it up. I replaced the entire t-case with a new GM unit.

Make sure you are not stuck in Hi Lock. Cycle the buttons several times and if that does not work SEARCH Plastic Shift Fork. Good Luck

What 3rdh3 said, but start with the buttons on the dash and make sure your 4WD control is lit up with the far left button, not the center (or the right). After that I would look at the plastic shift fork, especially since you have an 06.
