Hey guys, I bought my oem rock sliders used a while ago and the paint was faded and it has a little rust on it, and it was missing a few bolts. I was wondering what size are the bolts for the rock sliders, and what kind of paint should I use to re paint them, what color would match the best and hold up the best. Thanks!

No idea on the bolt size, but I'd go with rattle can bedliner. Good tough stuff, a bit grippy if you want to use it as a step, and easy to touch up when you bang them up again. Just clean them up first and maybe use some rust converter where the rust is.

I used two coats of rubberized bed liner on my sliders before putting them on and they came out very nice, you will be happy. I also would also suggest applying no seize on the bolts prior to installing them.

I use rustoleoum black on mine. Close enough for me as I end up needing to retouch after an offroad rock venture anyway. Each fall I prime and paint most of my underbody (brush) and any scratches/rust on the rocker rails gets updated as well. There is a grey/black color that is a near perfect match but it is hard for me to find. I use a flat/satin black rustoleoum but it is not a direct match - unless you paint the whole rail ;-}

I'm like Flash - I use Rustoleoum semi-gloss black on the one's on Cotilo's rig too. Easy to retouch and it is a close match. Good enough for my spouse, & it's cheap and good enough for me! :wink:

Ok thanks guys! thanks for all the info. :thumbs: I'm taking them off my truck today, sanding them down, and re-painting the whole bars.
