Nice!! I have my drivetrain torn apart replacing leaking seals. Need to get a couple of parts and will have my truck back together tomorrow night. :horns:

At least it was an excuse to change all of my fluids. Also had to replace a halfshaft that decided to leak and spray grease all over my wheel well. :gaah:

Good luck with that! I am going to have to pull my front diff soon to reseal it. I topped it off a couple days ago and it was down a quart. :whaa: It was a slow seap, but it is getting worse. Wis I had the $900 for a locker to throw in there while I have it open!

I was thinking the same thing. Screw replacing seals, why don't I just swap it with a cast iron diff with locker.

You were a quart low??? That is a lot for a diff. :whaa:

Yes, I know it is! Last time I had the skid plate off it was just seaping, but now it is a little more. So it will have to be done soon.

I just sent the roster out to everyone. I am sorry it looks like a jumbled mess! I had it all formatted so it was clear and easy to read, but somehow it changed it all when ity sent. I have no idea what happened there! I couldn't find a way to attach a word document to a PM. Sorry!

Well, I am not going to make the trip tomorrow. I had a part that was supposed to be here and it won't be here until monday. My truck is on jack stands with the transfer case and drive shafts have been removed.

Sorry I will miss all the fun, take lots of pics.

Hey guys, I totally screwed up this morning and went to the wrong meeting location. I tried to find you guys after I realized my mistake but there was no cell service there to look up the correct location.
I'm really bummed, sorry I missed you guys!

Hey! Sorry we missed you. We tried to call you, but it just rang. Turns out you didn't miss much anyway. After a little looking around or the trail head we were finaly on the right track and I broke a left rear axle shaft. :gaah: Limped it back to pavement, and flatbedded it to Monroe. We'll find out how good that GMPP extended warranty is Monday morning! PNW-H3 and SGT-Wright went on to find the trail and try to get across. Not sure where they are now. We are back home thanks to Kmug helping us get gear and people to the house fom the dealership. He is a rockstar!!! And thanks to Hummjay for driving Kmug out to cell service to get the flatbed coming.

I have to say, I have rarely been on this end of the helping stick, and it is very humbling. Thanks to all you guys for the support and help! I'll post more details tomorrow when I finish banging my head against the wall!

Glad you and your family made it home safe Robert. Like I said it coulda ben a worse situation. Luckily it was still drivable for a short distance to safety. With help from fellow friends you and your family got home safe and there's nothing to worry about other than fixing the rig. Thanks to Janice and Ken for helping ya guys out too. Jason and I made the trip over. We were able to get onto the trail a little farther east, only missing the one first section due to not being able to find the trail head where we first looked. We did the entire trail from there till about a few hundred yards or so from the end where the trail proved to be too tight for our rigs between trees on some precarious ledges. We had to work at building a bypass for me to get around a spot where I couldn't get through the two trees. If my mirrors still folded I woulda ben fine. Even on out bypass I rubbed a tree pretty good taking some bark and pitch down the fender and breaking some trim. We only made it a little farther before having to back down the trail we were on to turn around. With some good spotting for each other to navigate through tight trees and from rolling off of the cliff we made it backwards to a point where we could turn around. We got back to the road just in time for darkness and to air up. As we headed out we found the trail head from the other side and realized we were so.so... very close to the end. We headed home from there over chinook pass into Packwood, had a great dinner and headed home. I got into bed at 10:30 and called it a night. The trail wasn't too bad. It was interesting and going west on it would prove to be much more difficult in spots I think too. Sorry this trip didn't include all of us as planned, but it gave a good opportunity for "recon" of the trail for the next time. I will post a new thread later with pictures.

Hope that GMPP warranty turns out to be good, be sure to let us know!

On the plus side, it turns out an H3 can carry 7 passengers, a dog and camping equipment. Who knew?
