No seriously, it was a good thing. Popped into Autozone to get a replacement and they have 5 levels of brightness to choose from. Wanting a bit of an improvement but not wanting to blind people around me I went with the middle option, Sylvania SilverStar. Bought a 2-pack and switched out both headlights. HUGE improvement over the old, probably dimmer from age, lame stock lights. I knew the old stock lights were bad, but I didn't realize how bad. Now that I can actually see where the beams hit, I also realized I need to adjust them down a bit. An H2 with headlights adjusted too high and nobody has ever flashed their brights at me - that tells me something right there.
Easiest light bulb change ever, which is good because it started to rain on my as soon as I had the hood open and pulled the first bulb. Best $40 I've spent on my H2 so far. I know you can get full aftermarket replacements to change out the whole lens assembly, and those may be even better, but IMHO it's not necessary. The stock setup with the "35% brighter" middle option seems plenty bright for normal stuff, and throws a wider beam than I ever realized. If you are still running stock headlight bulbs, change them now!
