If someone has a problem with my H2 and has the balls to say something to my face I would just hand them their teeth. They would be sorry.

I've got a 2 and the balls. But with that attitude is where we seem to get the bad rep. Just sayin. But, not really. Had many convo's at gas stations mostly good. Few bad, but.... Show some class and deal with it. Lot of people out there that don't get it or so jaded and think it's just a gas sucking pig. F250 gets worse mileage than me. Clued one owner into that. Lifted running 35's with 6" lift. No lift and 37's here and better mileage

I agree, Its the way GM put them out there. The H2 for the mocho man and the H3 for soccer moms. Whats done is done and we get the haters. If more people would wheel them, thats the only way to change some peoples minds. Not all, maybe some. As for modded jeeps, most of them that have been built run chevy engines, ford axles and modded susp. So is it really a jeep anymore?

Me, I always like the H2 and wanted one. But, its also to wide for where I live. Narrow trails lined w/ trees, very tight up here in the mtns.

I always used to get comments about gas mileage, and to be completely honest, the H3T actually got better gas mileage than the 2014 wrangler unlimited I have in the driveway now. The H2 once it was modded and running on 37s was down to maybe 9 mpg, but on the other hand, it was not a daily driver. It was an offroad fun car. Screw the haters and keep driving. The H2 was a fun drive and there really is nothing like it and may never be again.

Ps: I didn't like the diesel crowd either. Most people rip the egr and soot cookers off the truck so they can "roll coal". I think guys who put vertical stacks in truck beds makes the truck look stupid. This is coming from a female perspective as well. I really hated the duramax vs power stroke vs cummins endless comparisons. In all honesty, the ram 3500 I had was very nice except the ride was a little rough and even in 4wd low couldn't hold a distant candle to what the H3T could do without even trying. I was literally shocked at the difference between a ram and a hummer off of pavement (not that I wheeled the truck, but bad weather driving). I felt comfortable in the hummer but reluctant to take chances in the ram.

I just picked up a jeep grand Cherokee diesel overland a little over a month ago. I also traded in my 2012 2 door jeep for a 2014 unlimited (4 door). The cherokee is turning out to be really awesome. I'm liking my variety right now. I am patiently waiting for it to stop snowing so I can the enjoy the muscle cars again. This is quite the snow smack down I am getting in the east. I'm hoping that a nasty winter means a nice early spring and a nice warm summer. I can dream at least :) by the way, most of my friends think I own a car dealership at the rate I swap out of cars. One good thing is I get a lot of invites to go on test drives :)

I believe I received more hate before I modified it. NOW more of admiration... Plus I do wheel the **** out of MessiaH2 which helps really shut up the negativity... :whoa:

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but Jeep diesels are made in Italy by VM. Incredibly unreliable engines. The moment it's starts acting up, get rid of it, because it's going to be a snowball effect after that.

Angela I used to be the same way and always having 6-8 vehicles means I was constantly buying and selling. I have slowed down quite a bit but have been looking at Sport Chassis trucks lately. Usually once I start looking...well you know. :)

Waved at an H2 today....yah I was ignored o

Mike

whenever I ride in the H2 I always wave at other Hummers whether its an H1, 2, or 3. Around here though most of the 3 owners are soccer moms who don't appreciate what they have and completely ignored my courtesy, but most H2s gave a wave back. Since riding around in the Alpha I haven't gotten any back...

Also surprisingly, I encountered the first person ballsy enough to make a smart ass remark while in stopped traffic in the 3. First for me, no one ever said anything to me in the deuce except the occasional head shake, but never has any one looked at me shook their head and then shouted "Do you feel proud about yourself driving in that P.O.S.?". Honestly I was a bit stunned considering that I would assume for that comment to be pleasantly shared while in the 2, not the 3. But as they always say....

Never gotten a negative comment on the HUMMER, just the always annoying what's the gas mileage. Thing is, if you pull stats on a Raptor you'll see there's no difference between it and a deuce--wait, what, the Raptor wasn't slaughtered in the media as a gas guzzling, environment killing monstrosity?

My friend has always said sh*t regarding my gas mileage. He recently bought a 2015 Wrangler and now he doesn't say a damn word about it because he gets the same exact mpg haha, damn hypocrites

Never wanted an H2, just too big. I bought an H3 because my built Cherokee was getting pretty worn out, I wanted a little more room, and didn't want to build up a Grand Cherokee for wheeling. That led to an H3T when we got rid of our Avalanche. A couple years later wanting to get back to an SUV and wanting a bit more rear leg room (damn kids keep getting bigger as they grow up) I looked and looked trying to figure out something that would work. Finally I let myself be talked into test driving an H2 and that was it. There just are not any other SUVs that are as comfortable to drive on-road, can tow decent sized trailers, and can keep up when wheeling completely stock. Yes, they are a little big for some areas and I still think an '09/'10 H3 Alpha w/offroad package is a better wheeling vehicle overall being a bit smaller and having a front locker, but as twin pointed out when you want to tow and wheel and take long trips in comfort the H2 is about as good as it gets. The Raptor and Power Wagon may be viable alternatives, but only if you want a truck bed instead of an SUV.

Maybe it's a PA vs UT thing, but I've never been hassled about it. Even the mpg comments are few and far between.

I do sometimes wish I had kept my old Wrangler (in addition, not instead of). Soft top and far smaller vehicle for a much different wheeling experience, but not nearly as enjoyable a vehicle for day to day use. I figure one day I'll pick up a UTV, maybe even a 4-seater, and have the best of both worlds.

When someone makes a poor gas remark about my hummer...I always respond arrogantly..."well it is a hummer, this is why I bust my ass working so I can afford to drive what I love and want, and not some other cheap piece of scheiße"

Been awhile since anyone has said anything about one of the Hummers. I think I am getting more waves and thumbs up though.

I typically get comments every other time I'm at the pump. I think yellow gets more attention at the pump and links up with TV/Media hate when gas prices go up they show a Yellow Hummer. It's usually from someone who gets the same or worse mileage and I typically educate them on the H3 and the tree huggers I have a short fuse with. I've been responding with "you mod not buy a Hummer for gas mileage and still cheaper to own when compared to all that hazardous waste you will have to dispose off when it's time".

I always get people coming up to me, just completely going out of there way to stop me because they see all the mud and dirt. Plus the obvious fun I've had on some trail or mud hole and tell me something along the lines, "Now that's what a Hummer is suppose to look like!"

O... wait this a people hating hummers thread... wrong thread
