Hummer Rant!

Ive been without my truck for almost a week now! Took it to the dealer for the 60K service + final warranty work before my warranty period expires later this month. Anyway, they serviced the truck and changed the UCAs and LCA bushings + sway bar end links. Power steering pump is also gone. Apparently all 4 shocks are gone/going but they wont replace them since warranty doesn't cover em. Not bothered in arguing since Im gona replace all 4 shocks with bilsteins anyway.

I miss my truck, and I wont receive it for another 2 days. Tomorow Im going wheeling while riding passenger in someone elses truck. Wished it was me whose driving!

I know the feeling man...I definitely do and it sucks! Ive been out for 2 1/2 months and went wheeling for 3 days in my brothers jeep. It made me realize I miss the Hummer even more...

In the future try and do some of those things on your own you will have less down time and learn a thing or two! I used to have all work done by others and now I would say 90% or more is done by me. Its much better...much less downtime.

Hang in there!!!

Dude, when I hear them talk about sway-bar end links, their normally just looking to hose you. They could be bad, but it is very unlikely.

I agree with schwarttzy. Luckily its under warranty. UCAs are non serviceable so swapping them out shouldnt take long. LCAs maybe half a day PS pump I did in a few hours and sway bar end links are also non serviceable and should take 10 min.

I was thinking they would have it for 3 days max.

The thing is they had the truck on stand by in order to clear things up with GM. Apparently GM is more serious with warranty claims here, and the techies need to take pictures and go back and forth till they get confirmation.

Whats bothering me is that Im expecting more down time as I start doing all the mods Ive been planning on doing for over a year a week after I pickup my truck, and Im expecting 3 more weeks of downtime on that! (Regearing is gona take two weeks and underbody rust protection/shocks and body lift approx three days)

I've had my truck in the shop for as long as ten days, and several times for a week. Never fun.

Don't you have 2 of them?

I do but the old one is with the Mrs. Now. She does lend it to me when im desperate :p
Ive built my new truck different than the old one, plus I got used to the performance and handling of the Alpha. Its a big difference in both areas over the I5.
Plus ive got a huge list of mods to do to celebrate gettin out of warranty and im expecting much more down time.
