HVAC temp resistor mod

My 2007 Hummer has the HVAC temp control issue with when on all the way cold, one click towards warm and it goes all the way hot. I read the tech article on the resistor mod, but my question is, does this modification take the place of replace the control knobs themselves or does it change something else? Reason I ask, I would rather just change the temperature control unit (all three knobs) if that would fix the problem.

Replacing all three should fix the problem, but it may not do so. When I first did that mod, I first swapped my HVAC control unit with another one and it didn't fix the issue. You may have better luck.

Thanks for the reply, was the HVAC control unit used that you swapped in? But the resistor mod fixed you up huh?
