I may have crossed some sort of home decorating line.........

After a couple beers last night, I had a brilliant idea where to put the newest museum addition----then I discovered Mrs. Twinmill WAS NOT as enthused as I thought she'd be when she went to get her coffee this morning.

Did I cross some kind of "home decorating line" here?.......

Yeah, I guess I kinda tried to use the HUMMER's on the counter as a sort of "diversionary" tactic. Didn't work, she's a pretty sharp gal!

Oh, and my original intention was to clear some of knick knack crap off the fireplace mantel and blend it in there.....

I don't see any HUMMERS on the counter. Just a big bright HUMMER sign over the counter! [emoji12] I love it. Great taste Twin!

I wouldn't want that in my kitchen, or anywhere in the house. It would be cool in my garage or a shop if I had one.

Ok, well day turned into night and she won't buy my "it makes a great nightlight" line either--yet she was taking care of last minute clean up before bed with no other lights on in there.

It does make a great night light

PS--Skeptic, I think you might be missing the "funny ha, ha" of the entire thing......

Oh, I think I get it - you are torturing your wife. :) What I'm less clear on is if you actually want it there long term or if you are just leaving it up until your wife threatens to kill you in your sleep.

My "messing with the wife" perspective is probably a bit off right now, we (mostly I) are in the middle of re-organizing/cleaning junk out of our house. Our front room is completely full of stuff to sell/donate/junk (anyone want to buy a bowflex, treadmill, or recumbent bike?), yesterday was re-paint the boy's bedrooms and touch-up paint the house, today is touch-up paint doors and trim + caulking, my office is full of boxes of computer and wiring junk ready to haul off... I plan to go through every drawer and cabinet in the house, probably toss at least half of everything and re-organize the rest.

...and very subtle subliminal messaging [emoji12] ...Twin, let us know how it works out for you!

Ok, day two and she's settling into it, but it's going to take a little more time. She actually asked if she could make the lights purple in it. I can adapt to that---if I put in one of the LED light strips that can be adjusted to a million different colors, we might be able to have a time share where she gets purple when I'm at work and I get red or white when I'm home.......

As for just screwing with her, yeah, she's been recently guilty of messing with my OCD and this is as good of payback as ever. I need lots of light (that's why Utah was so hard on me, it ALWAYS seemed to be overcast there); Mrs. Twinmill likes going around the house and turning lights off to get a reaction out of me. This is a nice payback to get a reaction out of her..........

The sign is just sitting up there between the cabinet tops and plugs in, so it's easily removable. Thing is, until I move it to a more permanent home (no mounting location selected yet), this is a good, safe out of the way location.

Oh yeah, I spent some time trying to get my camera's light settings right so I could take the picture--this thing is so bright it kept coming up as a white blur on all of my pictures!
