Is this a normal setup on a stock Alpha?

The electric fansetup on the alpha here is very similar to the one that comes stock on the 1500 series trucks. Im not sure if thats also region specific, but if not It wldnt be difficult to adapt it on the alpha in ur case

My H2 2008 has 2 electric fans in front of radiator, but no mechanical fan. One come on when i switch AC on, second is for overheating only.

Does anyone happen to have part numbers or a source for this electric fan setup that comes on the SA model H3s? I would buy it if I can find it...

All I know they are SPAL fans. The pcmofnc electric fan kit looks damn close, but they sell it as a replacement for the clutch fan (which I wouldnt do on an alpha)

Vehicles sold in hot climates; may be equipped with an auxiliary cooling fan system. The auxiliary cooling fan system consists of 2 electric cooling fans and 3 fan relays. The cooling fan relays are arranged in a series/parallel (S/P) configuration. This allows the engine control module (ECM) to operate both fans together at low or high speeds using 2 fan control circuits. The cooling fans receive positive voltage from the cooling fan relays, which receive battery positive voltage from the underhood fuse block. The auxiliary cooling fans are supplied a ground at G107.

Low Speed Operation
The ECM applies ground to the coil side of the cooling fan low speed relay. This energizes the coil and applies voltage directly to the right cooling fan through the switch side of the low speed relay. The right cooling fan is connected in series to the left cooling fan through the de-energized series/parallel (S/P) cooling fan speed control relay. The result is a series circuit that operates both fans at low speed.

High Speed Operation
The ECM applies a ground to the coil side of the cooling fan low speed relay, the S/P cooling fan speed control relay, and the cooling fan high speed relay. When energized, the high speed fan relay applies voltage directly to the left cooling fan through the switch side of the relay. Simultaneously, the low speed fan relay and the S/P speed control relay provide ignition voltage and a direct path to ground for the right cooling fan. During high speed fan operation, both engine cooling fans have their own ground path. The result is a parallel circuit with both fans operating at high speed.

Hmmmm... Wonder if it's possible to find a part number for everything that's needed?

My local GM parts buddy was able to get me the SA model mud guards after I gave him the part numbers.

I'm sure I could buy a couple universal fans and put something together, but I'd prefer the OEM stuff.

I realize that the PCM tune would control the relays, and for that, I've been thinking of buying HP Tuners anyway which would give me full control.

If you could find a part number plz share it. My dealer here only has the parts diagram for the US model, so whenever something associated with the SA model comes up, there is a 1 day " wtf is this part? " period before they find out...
