Jackstand advice

I'm going to start the front end rebuild Friday when all my parts are due in. I'm looking at how to support the front end while everything is out from underneath it. I have a small set of 3 ton jackstands that only go to 16" tall. I just looked at harbor freight and they have a set of 6 ton stands that go to 23" high. Neither of these are tall enough to support the front frame rails right behind the bumper which I think will be the safest place to locate them.

How are you guys supporting the truck safely when the entire front end is pulled out from under it?

I have really tall A/C delco stands

Ill measure it tonight when I put her on stands for the SAS.

Harbor Freight also has a 12 ton version that goes to (iirc) 29"

Please don't add blocks to the short jack stands to make due, spend the money on the larger size. I would hate to hear you got crushed under your rig for being lazy.

Exactly the reason for this post and the questions.

I have the HF 12 tons. Overkill for a Hummer, but all the way down they are the right height.

I got (4) big jack-stands...not sure the actual rating. During the SAS, I put each stand on 8" tall piers made from (4) 16x8x4 solid concrete blocks. I used the rock rails to support from, since I would be hacking and welding on the frame. This kept the stands out of my way for the 3-month duration of the project. I used some smaller jack stands to support the axles while I got them positioned under the truck. It was very solid, and worked great. It worked so well, that I decided to keep the (16) blocks around for future H3 work...

I'm about to redo my front end too. I've got the parts but need the tools, time, and a nice cool day. I'm looking at these from Northern Tool 6 Ton height range is 15 3/4in. to 23 7/8in and the $44 price tag isn't bad.
