Reading about his recent high-speed ground encounter, I also happened upon the fact that he watched his buddy die not too long ago. They were base jumping and his buddy hit bridge wires at 120+ with predictable results.

Well..... This is an assumption on my part but: I'm sure he has no real desire to die, but if it just so happens that he does die while base jumping, he will have died while doing something he's clearly very passionate about (obsessed much?)
