John Cappa hates Hummers. He expressed his views previously here;

Thankfully his colleagues don't share his opinion. Unfortunately he has expressed his again. In the September issue of Four Wheeler magazine, Cappa expressed his hate on page 16 in an article titled "Most Annoying 4x4s". The other two trucks picked on were the Chevy Trailblazer and Chevy S-10 Blazer. Here is what Cappa had to say about the H2;

Hummer H2: When it first came out, all the wanna-be ballers that couldn't afford a Hummer H1 bought in to the hype and thought they had themselves an unusually capable 4x4 for a third of the price. What they really got was a shoebox rebodied GM Tahoe that would puke its front diff and tie-rods on any slightly difficult hillclimb. The pinnacle of stupidity was when you could find online H2 forums claiming the H2 was more capable than a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Good riddance.

Yeah I read that too, any thing with the name Hummer he hates. There's been a couple articles where he has bashed them.

Who cares? It's only one guy's opinion. Heck, I own a Fiero...the laughing stock of the world, but I absolutely love it. Don't need to tell me twice about owning the punchline to everyone else's joke. As long as you like what you drive, that's enough.

He hasn't gotten the memo yet that hating on Hummers was cliche in 2007. I'm sure he's got a built-up white-bread JK, leaves for work in the morning after having a cup of coffee and reading the paper, kissing his wife on the cheek, patting his son and daughter on the head, and letting Spot back into the house...

In other words...this guy is boring. :yawn:

Dave, last I saw he was wheeling some old jeep pickup...it wasn't a Comanche though. I will post up a pic of it later (when im off my phone) I also saw his facebook profile and his most recent album was of a bone stock 2012 rubicon...it probably belongs to fourwheeler and is doing a long term review on it.

Haha who you kidding! Down here in Charleston people are still hating! Hell they were rubber necking the other day when I took all four doors off and drove down the highway! One person called me crazy today when they saw the picture, and my own mother said I was retarded for doing it lol

I particularly enjoy the Tahoe comment, I just shows how uninformed this guy really is. How does a person so close minded and ignorant become an editor for one of the more popular magazines of this hobby?!

I've never had anyone look down their nose, smak talk about my H3. The Jeep guys I usually go out with give me good natured ribbing most of the time, but usually decide that the H3 is a very cabable off-road vehicle. And I've found that I enjoy being the black sheep in the bunch :thumbsup

Mid engine, 2 seater, dent resistant body panels, optional v6... Too bad it took them until '86 to get the suspension/handling right - then killed it. Gawd awful interior, under powered (even the V6), and comparatively poor handling before '86 but I like them. Had they not been killed off so soon, I can only guess it would have gone from ridicule to respect.

Not that I'd compare the H2/H3 to a Fiero, but a great concept killed off before a highly improved "gen 2" could come along and not only improve on the original but address the big concerns. In the case of the H2/H3 I think they got a lot more right than they did wrong. IMHO, the H2 came with too much bling and too much luxury out of the gate. Too few people wheel them, too many people go huge wheels and street only setup. Public opinion is they are useless bling, huge, horrible mpg, and generally bad for the environment. "It's just a Tahoe with a body kit" mentality. Reputation ruined. The H3 NEVER should have come with an I5. Under powered (my H3 had an I5 as does my H3T). "It's just a Colorado with a body kit" mentality. Reputation ruined.
