Hey all, just want to give everyone a heads up on the new Warn Zeon 8/S, It is BIG. This I think is suppose to be the latest and greatest. They say its sealed better from weather and dust, the gearin is better and If you keep the top control pack on it, it uses 20% less draw from your battery.
The winch stands alittle less then 11" tall w/ a sloped top and about 24 1/2" long. The plug in socket is on the side of the control pack also. It weighs 75 lbs. w/ rope
I had to cut my grille, so I could keep the control on top of the winch. So I could also keep the 20% less draw and I really didn't find a good mountin place any where else. When you pull the control pack off the top, it is an odd shape and stands about 3" tall.
I just now completed the install and have not used it yet. I'm keepin my fingers cross when I go out there an play and will update if needed

That is 11' tall w/ control pack on. It is all sealed also, the pack, there are no openings even when control pack is removed. I will try to post a better pic of the cut grille to give you a better idea.

About time they addressed the sealing problem. My old vintage 8000 in the 70's was sealed better than my Power Plant.
I asked them about why it was not sealed better and got some excuse that if water got in it would not build up if it could get out??? HUH? is that like cutting holes in your rubber boots so if you go over the top it will run out.
I added gaskets and sealant after mine got water intrusion and corroded the dissimilar metals in the gearing end.

That is great the Thor will allow the option to recess the winch.
Here are some shots for size comparison.
8000 ti

Warn Power Plant about 13 1/2 tall.

It's looking good, I seen it on John's JK. Very sleek looking but I not sure u can rotate engagement handle 90' to side mount inside bumper.

How's the Zeon winch been working you? I thinking of getting myself. Still debate over all the options.

Really, I haven't even used it yet. The time I could have,I was not prepared, all me. Its pretty hard to open the back of the rig on the side of a mtn. No lockers and had to make my own way back down... sucked and have some new custom pinstripes.

The look I like. Nice and centered'.
Weatherproof or should help. Everythin is covered but the line.
I will keep you updated... It is , Warns lasted and greatest, they say...

Boy, that's an old post. But, I had to notch the grille to keep the control pack on top. Thorparts bumper is recessed abit. Hope it helps...

Thanks bud! I don't mind notching, but wanted to see what kind of clearance I'd have front to back to accommodate the lower center cross bar of the OEM brush guard. Any issues plugging your controller into the control pack?
