Wharton State Forest drive this past Sunday was great. I have been wanted to test out the new suspension and tires for a month now and finally got out in the mud.

IMG951951.jpg no one seemed to get any pictures of me pulling everyone out but there are some of me getting recovered...LOL BASTARDS!!!
I took my girlfriend and her 2 kids with 2 of my sons in my truck (threw in 3rd row seat) and we had a blast. We hit mud, IMG950267.jpg trails, a red clay pit IMG_20130818_162845_775.jpgand hills IMG951950.jpgall in about 5 hours which was awesome.

So the tires and new Fabtech lift are AWESOME and i could not be happier with its performance. My rebuilt tranny is working great too...thank GOD!. Some of the trails were tighter then i would have likes but most will buff out :sigh:

We had 8 other trucks with us and we went through way more holes then anyone!!! There were even two F350 Diesels with 40's that i got to pull out..LOL they stopped trying the bad mud whole after that embarrassing moment. We know how sensitive FORD guys are about being towed out.:shame:

I am going to look into gears next because when I really needed some low power I had to lock it all down in low and then run it in first gear. If I left the trans in Auto as Ii was plowing through the mud holes it would shift into 2nd and i really did not have the torque needed to turn the tires at the speed needed so i could throw the mud and clean the tread. Tires are great but need to be turning to be cleaned out as with most. IMG_20130705_151412_024.jpgIMG950265.jpgIMG_0266.jpg In this last picture i was sitting on my pumpkins where someone with 44"s must have gotten stuck before. No water in the truck this week, thank god, i just dried it out a month ago... when I was still stock.
Now mud inside the truck, different story... :gaah: For some reason my Drivers side air temperature went on the fritz and i had heat and my girl had cool air no matter what we did with the drivers side temp knob. So we had to have the windows up, NO AIR and i had to have the Sunroof open which i know is never a good idea. Well the new tires sticking out 4-5" inches do look badassIMG_20130706_091449_475.jpg with the big aggressive side tire look BUT holy **** does MessiaH2 make a mess when slingin' mud...:dance and I LOVE IT!!! Top of the truck was a mess with mud and tree parts but Needless to say I had some serious inside cleaning to do this time which was not just floor mats.IMG_20130819_122400_417.jpg All in all a great day, family friends, cold beer, sun and nothing broken but a heater gadget... Thank s for checking out my post guys!

What a great day. Sounds like a great time for everyone and another Hummer out doing the things Hummers are supposed to do. Thanks for posting up.

Looks like a fun way to make a mess. Love slinging mud in my deuce as well. 4.56 or 4.88s are definately a worth while upgrade. I'm running 4.56 and its damn near perfect with 37s..

wow. thous mud pits look deep... Look like allot of fun.
Do you think H3 could've tug along with you?

We had a Jeep Grand Cherokee with us on 31's... Every hole has a side route. The funny thing is i only went around 1 :)

the worse part was some of the trails were too tight for me and the big F350's... many many moons ago when i was going in the woods where i thought it was too tight i would apply a Crap load of wax to the sides of my truck and leave it on for wheelin' It seemed to protect the paint and i am kinda mad i did not do it this time around.

Big, I am going to look into gears in a couple months (after we get my sons IMG_20130607_132155_436.jpg Bday present done)

I am thinking of going down to 5.13 (not sure what is available yet) or something because i really like torque. I think the 4.88s would be fine with my 38's but i usually press the limits when i do stuff and like to MAX out my upgrades..LOL I need to find out a lot more about lockers and all that stuff too before I do anything.

I also believe when these tires go i am going to want 39.5's instead which are really only an inch bigger in real life. I am NOT touching anywhere yet and i still have about another 1.5" of adjustment in my suspension if needed. Thanks for the input Larry

I noticed in the pic looking dead on at your truck that your T-Bars looked like they could be cranked quite a bit more. So you definitely have some room to work with for bigger tires. I've seen 42s with that same lift you have.

Sounds like you have a good plan to me, 39.5's or 40s are in my future as well, just need to sort out how I want to lift mine, been thinking hard about ditching the IFS, but I hate throwing away my investment in the Kryptonite Centerlink and Tie Rods.

Happy Wheeling.
