Well for what ever reason luck was not with us on this 4th trip to the slick rock. Brand new PS pump failed in Grand Junction causing instant loss of brakes and steering, but we are thanking the Hummer Gods that this didn't happen on Vail Pass or the Eisenhower grade or we probably wouldn't be here. Cost us a 3 day layover for repairs. Then another unrelated problem on "Behind the Rocks" earned me another afternoon at the Outpost turning wrenches.

But one fun run on Fins and seeing old friends once again still made the trip worthwhile, and we're back home safe 'n sound, so all's well that ends well!

So many many thanks to Neo & Nav as always for their hospitality, and thanks to 3Hummers for hauling my new truck vault to Moab from SoCal!

Moab already beckons, so see you in April!

Even with the luck I had I still can't get the grin off of my face from a great week with the Black Sheep

We made it home at 1am this morning (Sun) with no problems. A big thanks to all involved and looking to do it again in spring. We had a really great time. Hells Gate was awesome. Thanks Neo. Alrock, we successfully handed off trans core to my son. He will deliver it after work on Monday to the dealership. We drove right by it on I35 going to his house. Huge dealership. He will call me after and I'll let you know it's done.
Thanks again to all that participated and to the new people we met this time around.

Reloader, thanks so much for the transmission delivery. That saved a 600 mile round trip for me to drop it off in SoCal. Greatly appreciate the ride to Grand Junction as well to pick it up. Glad you and Jeri made it home safely.

Front diff bushing pooped out on me... we're stuck halfway home in Rifle, Co.

This is the Rancho bushing... is this the same as the stock bushing issue? Are the bushings the same?

Those bushings are a POS! Carry a spare or modify it like nugget did. You can drive home and avoid the tow truck, pull the driveshaft out and run it in 4 hi locked. torque the bolt down as much as you can and hopefully it will keep the diff in ok shape.

Those bushings are not the same as stock. Tim sent me an email asking me some questions about it. I think you should be fine to get home without a tow truck if you pull the driveshaft torque that bolt down and run it in 4 hi locked. How far do you have to go?

Nugget came up with solutions to the problem. I will start looking into making the upgrades he did and get 2 of everything so you can have a set.

Damn Reaper, if not for you saying that picture is your front diff, I'd swear it's a picture they got of the Grand Ballroom on the Titanic on their last dive!
That front bushing was one of the last things that took a crap on my 3 before I traded it off---those damn bushings are the topping on the H3 cake of front end woes.

Ended up being a crapped driveline that tore up the bushing. I'm driving home in 2 wheel drive, will fix it at home. Going to see some waterfalls on the way home today.

Thanks Neo and Nav for letting me decorate the New "Merica room. And thanks Nav for all your help with the painting too:)

The wheeling was great too. Can't wait to get back to BTR and GS.
