My engine is hot...too hot??

My engine thermometer is at 3/4 and it normally runs at1/2 its 80 degrees ouy and im running the ac.

Is this normal

My check engine light is already came on, but that is for the evap thingy. Im not sure what you mean by cel's?

If this is first time. I'D suspect a stuck thermostat.
But mine will run at 3/4 with the ac o

To replace thermostat
Remove left front wheel
There's no drain for the radiator. you either have to remove the lower radiator hose or just let it drain when you unbolt the thermostat.
Remove driver side fender liner.
Follow radiator hose to theomostat housing and remove 2 bolts.
remove hose clamp and hose.
The thermostat is part of the housing.
Reverse and don't forget to refill radiator

Is it staying at a constant 3/4 or is it going up there on occasion, like when waiting at a light or after climbing a hill? Operating at 3/4 can be normal but typically it would be hotter out, or the truck under a heavy load, for that to occur.

If you don't have a code reader go to a parts store and have them run it.

If i knew what that meant then i could answer. Basically as long as its normal that it would over heat because of a heavy load, then my mind is at ease

Yeah it's possible. Just keep an eye on it and report back when you unload.

Frankly, I would have thought it would take at least a Rosanne to cause any sort of over-heating issues.

Running "warm" is not at all unusual for the H3's. My guess is your temps are a product of the added load. As already stated, see how things change when you unload the truck. If the engine gets REAL hot, you will get an "ENG HOT" in your dash and it will reduce power and refuse to run the AC

Well, ran my 3 today, didnt go above ½ so looks like it was just the heavy load and my paranoia haha!
