Nitto Trail Grapplers

Anyone here have experience with the trail grapplers? I know the duratracs are great tires, and that is what I am currently running. A shop around here told me they would give me 5 new 35x12.5x18 trail grapplers for my 5 duratracs. They have maybe 1000 miles on them now. I dont know if they can just get nitto tires for really cheap or what, but I honestly like the looks of the trail grapplers better, just dont know much about their performance.

I searched other forums and many people seem to like the trail grapplers, also many people liking the duratracs.

The trail grapplers are being run by mel wade on his EVO1 JK...I would email him and ask. He has run a lot of tires, The reviews arent out because they are pretty new to the 4x4 market.

ive read alot of reviews and forums for other vehicles and havent seen any negative comments that i can recall. I'll probably trade for them.

Benlaud, just curious - why does your local shop want the Duratracs so bad & are they the same size as the grapplers?

they didnt ask me for them, I asked if they would trade me for some MT tires, and they said they would get me 5 brand new trail grapplers for the duratracs. theyre 35x12.5x18 and my duratracs are 325/65r18. Both tires are load range E. According to both websites the trail grapplers are taller and I also believe they are 13.39" wide so theyre actually taller and wider than the duratracs are.

I talked to the guy yesterday and 3 of the trail grapplers are in stock and the other 2 will be delivered this week so I should be able to get them this weekend if I want. I'll be in Idaho all week, and wont be back until friday.

I'm running the Nitto Trail Grapplers on my 07 H3, since July of last year, and it still looks pretty new(comparing it to my spare, which is brand new), especially when it's on my daily driver, I have the 35x12.5x18. I love these tires! It has that aggressive look but quiet on the road! When I was in El Paso, TX, I've taken it out to the sand dunes, they performed well! When it was monsoon season in El Paso, the clay dirt turned into deep mud, never got stuck! And now that I'm in Colorado, I haven't done any real wheeling, but I have found three foot snow trails, it handled well. I will buy these tires again.

I have had a few nitto tires (nt 555 on a twin turbo stealth and gtp comp g then terra grapplers on my F150 and my wifes expy) and as much as I hate to say it because they are not American made tires......they F'n rock and the price is great! 555s were always awesome even with 400+ health points during PAC nor west and Oklahoma winters they were great the terra grapplers were the same except for mud but not too much mud out here in El Centro. So I'm sure the trail grapplers will be more of the same and hopefully better in mud. Good luck bro.
