Unreal. I agree.
LagunaH1, you might be right.....
There was a time (about 20 years ago) I was being watched by the police while having a pellet rifle in my hand.
One cold Saturday morning, I was looking out of my bathroom window at home and saw a small field mouse in my front yard. I don't know why, but I wanted to pop that little booger. To set the scene, my house in upstate NY had a main road in front of my yard with a few cars every hour or so driving by. Pretty quiet. I also had houses on both sides of me.
I got my slippers on and while in my shorts and t-shirt, freezing my bearings off, I went out front with my hand pumped pellet rifle, looking for a trophy mouse. I started to stalk the little guy threw the grass and was concentrating on his movements pretty hard. Behind me, I heard a car drive by and stop. I figured it was the neighbor pulling in his driveway. I stalked the mouse for about a good 2 minutes, when I slowly took my shot. POP! The mouse jumped about a foot in the air and landed back in the grass. That was a good 10 yard shot with iron sights! I ran up there and picked up my trophy with a stick and turned around. It was a NY State Trooper stopped in the road, lights on, apparently watching me hunt in my front yard.
He was in his car laughing like hell! He came out to talk to me but couldn't talk because of the laughing. He just shook his head, waved me away, got back in his car, and drove away. I guess it looked serious at first, but seeing me dressed that way, the concentration of the hunt, and the mouse jumping in the air, was too much for him.
If that happened today, I probably would have been shot myself, or the mouse could have turned on me.
