Not sure I buy the whole "factory option" story but, it looks to be a nice rig. If anything...its probably an aftermarket production-built conversion, much like a Choo-Choo van or Moody 4x4 van. I don't really think its valuable as a collector piece but, the 3/4-ton axles are a start of a kick-ass rig. A small lift, winch-bumper, and Cummins 4BT would really make this rig pop. Rust free...pre-engineered pop-up...4x4...very cool.

I think the coolest thing about it, is that the drivers cabin is open to the rest of the camper, like a real RV and not a pick-up truck camper.

You should buy the "factory option".... my dad considered one back in the day - it was one of those "factory authorized" rather than factory option, though.

Yeah...probably ordered as a stripped down Blazer, and then completely refitted and painted by the conversion company. Limos, ambulances, and Obama's motorcade are done this same way. They are new but not truly "factory". Whatever it is...it's pretty awesome.

Sounds like the seller thinks it's pedigree means it's valuable or something. Who knows...maybe it is to an RV collector? To me, it's valuable as an off-road rig and not for collector reasons. It's clean for sure!

I think it's neat and have been following it for awhile (it was on craigslist) - and it's varied in price, but the bid price now is less than he would have taken for it by a factor of 3... that said, I do not need another vehicle, so it'll be home for someone else...

Blazer Chalet, I like it. Pretty interesting build. I have never seen one like this before. The big question is do you restore it to original condition as a collectors item or do you upgrade it, and modernize it. My neighbor back in Louisiana ran into an issue several years ago restoring a rare vehicle. He got his hands on one of the Wrigley Families Packard Limos that was rusting away on Catalina Island and he debated for a long time wether or not to restore it or customize it. He opted for the later and put a viper engine in it an modernized it. It was one cool ass ride when he was done. He was criticized for years for doing what he did, but it has done nothing but gain value since he sold it. This video was the second time at auction.

I think it's real cool. If I were buying it,5k tops as it's sits, 10k restored. The only value in that truck is buying it and using it. I'm with CJ,slight mods and have fun.
