Off-road trails "lite" question

Julie you misunderstood me my fault. When I said others to go with you I meant it is best to go anywhere offload at least in pairs. We all had a good time. I hated you and Borris were both ill. I have only had motion sickness once and it was horrible.

@Green1: I definitly learned on our trip you never go off-roading alone. I was referring to you saying hubby & I are ready for more than we think. But as far as the "lite" scenic off-roading, my parents just recently bought a new FJ cruiser 4X4. So they would enjoy taking trips like that. And it would solve our problem of not going alone. We've been interested to see what their FJ can do.

We have a FJ that runs with us on occasion here in So Cal. Most of us have been impressed what they can do

You can find forest service road maps here It can be hard to tell what type of surface the different roads are but comparing to google maps aerial views you can usually figure it out.

Do you have a trick for reading these maps cause I tried and without street signs on some of the roads I ran out of daylight trying to find them and then I'm not sure if I was even looking for the correct trail/road to begin with. I was looking for the trail head for public road vehicles but when I showed up at what I thought was it, it was for 4-wheelers & dirt bikes. Also the map states the public road trails are for vehicles that are 50" or less in width which our H3's are 74", didn't want to get in trouble or stuck. Please help out a map retard. :emb:

Gunner is really good at finding and recommending stuff, not sure how many times he has wheeled at any of those places though! LOL :wink:

Candi, I would love to go to Moab & feel like the neglected stepchild who doesn't get to go, but unfortunately there's no way I can take that much time off so soon after my last vacation when we all went to Marble Falls. Wish I could though!

I am totally up for Barnwell if you wanna go & be my "fwiend"...& whoever else wants to go of course. Is that the place where you all had so many "obstacles" so to speak? Are you looking for March? April? Let me know & I'll tell you what days I have off if my schedule's already set. If it's not then I can make my own schedule.

Barnwell has lots of different types of trails. Pretty scenery, hilly, long winding trails. Something for everyone. I'm sure you would like it there!
