Hey all,
I have problems with the power locks on the front and back passenger side doors. They operate but lock and unlock about a third of the time. It looks like they are trying but they are either binding or just not enough grunt.
I bought two new actuators and ready to install them today. First was the front passenger door. Got the trim all off and went looking for the actuator. That sucka was buried down low on the right side where I had a heck of a time getting my "chubby" little arms in there. I got the mounting screw out and tried to pull the actuator out. I just could not get the locking arm disconnected to pull it out.
I've checked around the net to see if there was an easier way to rip that out of there. No luck. Does anone have a trick to get that thing out? Is it pretty easy to unsnap and re-snap the arm back on the actuator?
I gave up and sprayed some silicon on the working mechanisms. That did help some but for how long. Probably not very. Put it all back together for another go at it later. I think my biggest fear was not getting it all back together in one semi-working piece. Any ideas are greatly appreciated......
