From an engineering perspective, pressure = force / area . Bigger tires mean larger contact area, the force (weight of the truck at that tire) is the same, so in the end the pressure has to decrease to balance the equation.

I tried 40 and found it too squirmy for me so I went back to 45. 16,000+ miles later, I dont have any abnormal tire wear and I dont think it rides rough
From experience, the Duratracs ARE squirmy for the first 12k miles or so. Try dropping the pressure a little after you get some miles on them.

AMRG, you are totally correct.

I believe I'm at 38 right now. But I've only got maybe 50-60 miles on them so far. Initially it just seemed a little bit harsh over some small bumps in pavement.

Maybe its not your tires. It might be time for new shocks. I have found that my 3 is one of the best rides I have ever had. Even w/ 315s

When I put new tires on a truck it drives like a Caddy for the first few tanks until the tires get broken in. Then they start to feel like they will for the next 80% of the tire life before they get loud and harsh.

Could be. I leveled it before putting thr tires on. Far as I can tell OEM shocks have never been replaced and I'm at 73K. Thinking it may be time for Bilstein's on the front.
