Hello dear friends. Does anybody know how i can get metal shift fork for our transfer case. Now i have plastic fork. My friends says that this damn plastic fork may cause transfer case failure because fork starting to go dead. It takes all transfer case with it to hell. Does anybody know metal fork partnumber ? Thank you.

How hard is it to replace it

Not bad, but you have to remove the T case, split the case, and partially disassemble the gears. Oh, and don't break the small pin at the end of the shifting rod (can't remember actual name).

The T case is not fun to get out and back in. I removed the encoder motor and transmission cross member to help with removal. The case is lop sided and makes handling it awkward.

While you have it out, it is a good time to check the slack in the chain, clean the magnet, and check all seals.

OE replacement is not plastic like previous design. And if replacing the fork, would also replace the collar as well.

That's some good stuff explained...I have the tranny and transfer case on the floor right now...waiting to have free time to throw in the rebuilt kit I got...I seen the fork for sale in Amazon...I'm going to scoop one up then...and I think I know the collar Zach is talking about as well...wish I could throw in a 4:1 T-Case but I know they aren cheap anymore.

I can get you t-case parts....chains, bearings, gears, etc. PM me with a list and I will get you prices.
Biggest issue with cracking one open is you must get the sun gears in perfect alignment with their planetary gears or it will bind up in 4HI-Street mode. If you had a plastic fork, the collar is probably okay (which is why GM uses the plastic). Chains are almost always toast...$210. Btw...08-up models can sometimes have the plastic fork...mine did.

Not fun manhandling the t-case into place. Was able to do it by lowering the transmission crossmember about an inch without removing it.
