Hey Guys,

I should be able to post answers to your questions tomorrow morning. Also we sent some of our LED lights out for testing and I think you will be morning than happy with the Isolux Chart results. I will post these tomorrow as well.

Portager: I have printed your response and will being working on your questions today. Have you seen a Squadron in action yet? If not no worries I would love to send you one for an honest review.

Trent;

Thanks for the offer of allowing me to test a Squadron light. I have been trying to figure out a way to do some useful quantitative testing using some of the equipment in our labs. I ruled out measuring total lumens output since that requires a spectroradiometer and an integrating sphere (neither of which we have in our labs). I would like to use our environmental test chamber to test the operating temperature range and use a Radiometer/Photometer to measure luminous intensity (i.e. cd/m^2) versus operating temperature. However we do not have a Radiometer/Photometer in the lab either and the cheapest one I can find is over $1,000. I would love to test one of your lights, however without the ability to make quantitative measurements I think it would be a waste of time. (Anybody can say, yea they are really bright!). The only thing I could do is see how they compliment, compare and contrast with my 3000K HID fog lights (which are supposedly 3,500 lumens per light but in a wide beam).

I look forward to seeing your response and the test data.

One additional question I have, and this should be an easy one. Since Baja Designs sells both HID and LED off road lights. What are you seeing in sales of each type of light? Are HID lights still out selling LED or what and which do you project will dominate sales in the future?

By the way, maybe we should move this discussion to a new thread? Maybe start one titled “Baja Designs Off Road Lights” or … I think we have hijacked the OP's thread.
