I know quite a few H1 guys that have run the Rubicon without damage. Has the trail changed?

Speak to Bebe she lives by there and can help you out possibly or atleast know some locals to get you off. The trail is normally tougher in the beginning of the season compared to August/September when people run it all summer long. I have my days off confirmed for July 14th-19th to hit up the rubicon. I can't wait!

So true, yes the trail has changed a lot in the last 10 years I have been running it. It's different every year. In some spots it's more difficult and in some places it's easier. Honestly during or right after the melt is the trickiest time to run it. Once it's dry it's a good deal easier. Running the trail with someone who knows it your first time out is the best advice I could give anyone.

So basicaly upper ball joint plate broke 3 and pulled out 4th bolt.
minimum upper king pin joint needs to be rebuild, broken bolts extracted, possibly replacing knuckle if cant extract bolts.

I have a fab guy who can go on Wednesday. He has parts as well. Good idea to bring the spare knuckle in case yours is fubared.

Trail wise imagine hardest parts of John Bull going on and on for ~5 miles non stop. We were flying, started ~11am and were at breakdown point ~6.5/7mil in ~3:30 or so. And we got lost ones for ~30/45min. Trail is not well marked in some areas, tire marks are gone from granit so we had to walk some parts just to figure out way to go. It took us ~ 4 hours to get to LT trailhead. Last 5mil is easy dirt road.

pic is before i tried to weld it, weld didn't penatrate but it will have to be cleaned up with grinder. Also welded bolts to the top plate.

Welding on the knuckle right? If so and its cast bring a torch. Preheat is important on that but if Bebe has a fab guy coming out I'm sure he knows what to do. I'm happy you made it out safely.

this is crap, filmed at loon lake and mm 0.0 , before trail really begins. That POS will not make it through gatekeeper without shape shifting half of that car.

stock or mild lift and you will be there for days winching and pulling yourself off every possible rock. Just watch Wayoflife videos and tell me how stock jeeps were half way after 4 days on trail.

I don't know how they test stock rubicons. I can imagine they have well build jeep pulling them off most of obstacles and taking every bypass possible. From what I have seeing there is no easy lines, it maybe easier that 1st, but still hard. We were scraping sliders and bottom all over the place. Maybe that why it takes JJ 3 days to do this trail.

in well build rig and starting ~7am I can finish this trail before sunset next time.

it won't be possible, wife is due in August. I think I won't be doing much off-roading till end of the year, maybe 1 day trips.
