So with my rancho/soa right around the corner, I'm finishing up my parts list. I'll be throwing some alpha t-bars in my I5. So on to shocks. I've read a bunch of stuff. Resi or not, Bilstein or Rancho or Fox, etc... So far I'm going with the bilsteins (F- 24-185950, R- 24-191203). I see there's a 5160 w/ reservoir for the front (25-177411). Are reservoirs really that big of a plus? I'm not crazy where you have to mount the reservoir up front. What are some other options you guys have considered. Part numbers would be helpful as well...

You mean a bar pin eliminator. I didn't know that you needed them with the Rancho lift kit.

yes. those things. im not using the shocks that come with the kit. 2 reasons. 1) the shocks that are coming with the kit are shot. 2). rancho shocks dont have the best shock in this application.
ill be using the bilsteins 06H3 had in his "rancho redux" thread. they appear to be for full size chevys and yukons and those things. i believe they have an eye on both ends so ill need to convert the top to that bar design our shocks use.

from what i understand, theres a bracket that bolts up there that you can use a standard eye shock. or theres a bar that you press into the top of the shock to make it like our oem design.

you can run JK shocks in the rear so you can still use the OEM setup. The fronts run chevy bilsteins are they bolt in.
