SoCal Event - Hungry Valley - April 21st, 2012

If there's interest we can split the group and I can take the first timers [to off roading] and show them the basics of judging distance and tire placement with cones in an open area and teach hand singles and other basic techniques.

Predator did that during the Hummer national club event 2 weeks ago and it was interesting how they taught a few first timers how to do things from scratch [there were a few hummer and humvee owners who never had their trucks in the dirt before]...

I'm planning to bring a few friends along and let them drive my truck in Gorman, that's if we have a bunch of new folks...

Great idea, Kurt! I have never been through an official training session so I really don't know how to approach it. I have always kinda winged it in the past. I may be leaning on you quite a bit since it sounds like you have a lot more experience.

Well the cooling issue is under wraps, and the brakes are getting fixed Wednesday. I'll be fixing the vacuum wastegate system next week. Definitely in. No question now! Hmm, I should grab a CB since most of you aren't on Ham.

I found one that I can just put up when I need it at Fry's Electronics. Not sure if they have a solution for a pickup though. This one fits on the lip of a trunk lid or the H3 back door. The price was very good.

I have never spotted a trailer off-road so we will keep it simple.

Understandable. Besides, HV will seem like a fire road after what you have been doing the last week!

Im thinking this is the place where Craig painted the trees blue and filled his rack with branches????

Pretty low if we're talking about the open drive area and the test track unless we're running a specific trail [All I ever done was the hills, test track and a few of the trails across the park]

It is low. I did tear up my paint something fierce, but that was totally optional.

It is very low unless you are Craig looking for the chance for some deep pinstripes :wink:

I ended up having work for Saturday. My brother was in but forget he had a lacrosse game.

Craig I will still get u the crossmember...where are u guys stopping for gas? Im right off of Valencia blvd. The shell station u stopped at last time is less then 5 minutes from me so I can give it to u then. The chevron by magic mtn is even closer. Ur call...just let me know the time and meet up. I will be up early and leave for work at 9 15 so any time before then.

Things are looking shaky again with the truck. STILL not out of the dealership. Waiting on a callback from the service dept to see if I need to pull it out and take it to an independent to get it done by this weekend.:gaah:
