I agree with the CA policy. Might save a few lives.

also costs taxpayers a lot of money. Police, Fire and EMS Response to overdoses. Then if they don't have insurance (strong likelihood) they get free treatment at the ER till they can sustain their own life without support (paraphrased so it may not be completely accurate but it's the gist). All on the taxpayer's dime. lots of taxpayer's money spent. if you're going to be doing illegal drugs it should not be the responsibility of the taxpayer's to support your habit (ER Visits, 911 response, etc). Also these individuals can very easily be 'frequent flyers'. so they often get taken to the ER and or get 911 response. Will more addicts die? probably, but I think thinning of the herd is a good thing especially in today's day and age.

Thats my whole point. Illegal, and shouldn't be. Much safer than drinking, with zero risk of OD. I have never known or heard of anyone, ever, going to the ER because they OD'd on pot.

Legalize it, save the money allocated to fight the loosing pot war, jailing on those charges, etc. then tax the sale of it.

Want to talk about burdens on medical care and income taxes, look no further than illegal aliens having their babies here then applying and receiving food stamps and other public assistance support.

When folks believe what the GOV has shoved down their throats without actually looking at and considering the facts, all you'll get is the same opinion the GOV has. Look at the numbers and folks start to see it really is a sham. Then states, one by one, start to tell the GOV "Up Yours" and decriminalize or outright legalize it. Remember, Big Brother ain't in it for YOU...

And lastly, not all folks that approve of legalizing pot are lacking health insurance or the means to support themselves. I hear some of them actually drive Hummers and Maseratis..
